History

In the Fall 1999, Kyle Zake, Chapter President at that time, created the ATO Fire program to recognize brothers that exemplified "True Merit" character and were committed for a lifetime. His desire was to promote motivation and hard work amongst the members of the Theta Zeta chapter and recognize undergraduate members and alumni for their commitment towards strengthening the Brotherhood.

ATO & Theta Zeta for a Lifetime

The graphic you see on the right has already been placed on the back of a shirt. These shirts are not for sale, but rather they must be earned.  The way to earn one is to show the chapter through thoughts, ideas, and actions of being committed to the brotherhood for a lifetime. Any brother can nominate an individual to the Executive Council where minimum criteria will be evaluated.

The criteria is for an undergraduate brother:

  1. Have a GPA above the All-Men's Average on campus.
  1. Have volunteered a minimum of 30 hours of community service per semester.
  1. Have properly maintained a zero balance with the chapter.
  1. Can only have a maximum of 3 unexcused absences from chapter meetings.

The criteria is for an alumnus brother:

  1. Attend one initiation ceremony after graduation
  1. Must have graduated five years
  1. Unanimous vote the chapter
  1. Must show 110% involvement within the chapter. Do more than what is expected of an alumnus.

If these conditions are all met the brothers name shall pass to chapter meeting. Here the chapter can discuss the intangibles. It takes a unanimous vote from the chapter in order for the motion to pass. This is a serious honor, because like the creed reads, the principles we strive to live by are eternal!
